The SFFMA is one of the largest trade associations in Texas. The cornerstone of the organization is the Certification Program for firefighters, which encourages training, education and certification for all emergency responders.
TEEX has been providing unsurpassed fire training for emergency responders since 1929, when the State Firemen’s and Fire Marshals' Association of Texas selected Texas A&M University as the site for a permanent firefighter training school.
The Galveston County Office of Emergency Management is responsible for the development and implementation of a comprehensive emergency program for Galveston County.
